Privacy policy

In effect from 6 September 2026

Sarafu is an expense tracker. The things you record in it are a record of your money, so this page says plainly what we hold, why we hold it, and what you can do about it.

What we store

Only what is needed to run the app for you:

  • Your name and email address, so you can sign in and be added to a shared book.
  • The transactions, categories, labels, wallets and budgets you record.
  • Which workspaces you belong to and what you are allowed to do in each.

We do not collect your contacts, your location, your SMS messages or your device’s advertising identifier. There is no advertising in the app and no third-party analytics or tracking SDK in it.

Where it lives

Everything you record is written to your own device first, which is why the app works with no signal. A copy is kept on our servers so the same books open on another device and so people you share a book with can see what you added.

Passwords are never stored as you typed them. Traffic between the app and the server is encrypted in transit.

Who else sees it

People you deliberately share a workspace with, and nobody else. When you add someone to a book they can see the entries in that book, and each entry shows who recorded it. Remove them and their access ends.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We disclose information only where the law requires it.

Getting it out, and getting rid of it

You can export every transaction to a CSV file from Settings at any time, for any date range, at no cost. It is your ledger and you should never have to ask for it.

To delete your account and everything in it, write to support@huduma.cloud from the address on the account. Deletion removes your workspaces and their contents and cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.

Children

Sarafu is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes, and how to reach us

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top always reflects the current version.

Questions about any of this go to support@huduma.cloud.
